Luminescence Chamber Singers

Holiday Programs

Luminescence Children’s Choir Holiday program is a 6-day workshop for young people aged 7 – 12 who love to sing.  There is no application or audition requirement for our holiday program – all young singers are welcome!

This 6-day program invites young singers to explore their voices, the magic of singing together, as well as the life and music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Led by Artistic Director AJ America and members of Luminescence Children’s Choir, participants will explore a diverse range of choral repertoire, and learn about singing, musicianship and music theory through games and play. The workshop will culminate in a performance of Jill and Michael Gallina’s musical Of Mice and Mozart, which marries Mozart melodies with clever rhymes to tell the story of Mozart’s life from the perspective of the imaginary descendants of the mice who lived in the woodwork of Mozart’s house.

All workshops and rehearsals (Monday - Friday) will take place at Ainslie Arts Centre, 30 Elouera Street Braddon.
Our performance on Saturday 3 July will be held at the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, Barton.

Financial hardship should never be a barrier to music education. In order to ensure that all choristers with a passion for singing are able to participate in our programs, Luminescence offers a comprehensive bursary scheme. Donate to the Luminescence Children's Choir Bursary fund, and help foster self-confidence in young people, a love for music and life-long friendships by enabling young musicians experiencing financial hardship to sing with Luminescence.
